Conservative treatment of large spontaneous spinal extradural hematoma.

Spontaneous epidural hematoma (SEH) is a rare condition, which, in most cases, requires surgical treatment due to neurological worsening that occurs within the first 12 hours after the ictus. We describe the surgical indication for SEH and show that conservative treatment might be a treatment option in selected cases, presenting good outcomes.
